Main projects that need to be worked on are maintaining old trail obstacles and building new obstacles. Also to repair perimeter fence. Discussed NV Rendezvous with 11-month schedule we need to start to discuss possible date for next year.
California Rendezvous
It was much smaller than others in the past but still had really good presentations and information. USFS did a packing presentation with different loads on 5/6 mules and demonstrated how to line out fresh mules that are just beginning to work. There were also two different horse trainers, one demonstrated and talked about desensitizing, and one demonstrated and talked about colt starting and how crucial groundwork is. Next year it will be in southern California.
Wild Sheep Foundation Outdoor Experience Booth
We were asked to have a booth at the Carson City Gun Club for the NV Outdoor Experience event organized by the Wild Sheep Foundation on June 21st. Anyone available to help with the booth?
Eastern Sierra Trail Division –
is a group of people who work on trails and are open to the public. More information to come once we know more.

Park rules are to feed weed free hay 1-2 days before, but it is up to you, they don't check at the campsite where your hay will be. Stock trailers are available for rent and Steve Clifford has a stock trailer with room for 2-3 horses – coordinate with him if you want to trailer with him at Bryce.

Club Ride in Palomino Valley:
Thank you, Karen Kibbe, for hosting! A great ride with a lot of climbing and a great view overlooking Palomino Valley, ending with a fun potluck celebrating Terry Graham's birthday. Happy Birthday Terry!
BCH-NV State Meeting in Tonopah:
Bristlecone Chapter in Vegas is no longer an active chapter (they didn't renew 501c3, so the state doesn't see them as a chapter entity.) The State will request those individuals from Bristlecone who are still interested in remaining in BCH-NV to join another chapter.
High Sierra (Toni, Jerry and Don) were asked to review and update the state bylaws. Carson Valley Chapter Money - the four years are up from when the Carson Chapter decided to fold. Half of the money will come to High Sierra and half will remain in the NCHNV state account.
Suggested by Don that we track what we do with it and possibly open separate account for money disbursement, all opposed and all approved to just put money in general fund and we can track by knowing what the amount is.
TMCC Trails Certification Workshop:
Toni and Jerry attended a workshop on proposed new course(s) to be developed by TMCC on trail maintenance and design. A lot of items were discussed, and we will keep you posted on any updates
New Business: National BCHA Meeting:
Are there any issues you would like Steve Clifford to address at the state meeting? We've been starting to build notes for Steve to take to the National Meeting in Arizona. We already have that they shut down all the printing materials and there are no new member (recruitment) items.
High Sierra Calendar:
Bailey sent out the calendar via email which is the only time the TENTATIVE calendar will be sent out, as we populate and discover dates/times/etc. throughout the year you will need to update your calendar, as information will be discussed at meetings and minutes.
Booth:
A request was asked for us to do a booth for the NV Outdoor Experience at the Carson City Gun Club on June 21st sponsored by the Wild Sheep Foundation.
Monthly Club Ride:
Will be the Members Fun - Bryce Canyon Trip --Terry Graham announced to meet at the Golden State Fuel Station in Fallon at 9am on Friday, April 25th. Planning to ride the 1st and 2nd into the park. There are horse trailers to rent there if anyone has a longer living quarters trailer that they don't want to haul everywhere. Please also remember that all equine need to have coggins and health certificates done on them!
Hey everyone, just a quick reminder to bring cash to settle up with Terry Jones for food costs. It'll make things easier for everyone. Thanks a ton!

Members Fun Bryce Canyon Trip
Departing April 25th and spending the night at Sacramento Pass. Bryce Canyon Horse & RV Park April 26-May 2. Terry Graham asked if the people going would like to give $100 up front, to cover some of the meal expenses, so Terry Jones doesn't have to pull much from his personal pocket. We will settle the final amount each of us owe once we get a receipt for the food from Terry Jones.
Any money collected at the February 19th meeting and Feb 21st, will be given to Terry Jones at the state meeting.
Tax-exempt status is in the works. We are hoping to get an appointment with the IRS to change our status from a 501c4 to a 501c3 (c4 is for political activities and c3 is for nonprofits). Thank you to Janie and Bailey for getting us information on the differences.
For those who are unfamiliar, Channel 2 News does an Annual Share the Fun Christmas canned food drive. Last year we donated $1008.29 with a wagon and Percheron team and pack horses. (When we pass the food drive fund around, there is no pressure to donate, only if you want to and we have no goal, we will donate as much as we raise)
